Principal Audio DSP & Edge Computing Architect

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Audio DSP & Edge Computing Architect to lead the design and implementation of next‑generation audio processing pipelines and edge‑computing solutions. The role combines deep expertise in digital signal processing, embedded Linux, and AI‑driven audio to create advanced active noise cancellation and spatial audio systems for aerospace applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced deep ANC and spatial audio algorithms.
• Program and optimise audio DSPs (e.g., Analog Devices ADAU series) using SigmaStudio or C/C++.
• Build embedded Linux applications on edge platforms such as NXP i.MX8M or CM4 class.
• Integrate multi‑stream data (audio, flight telemetry, biometrics) into a synchronized real‑time system.
• Develop speech enhancement and noise suppression models using CRN, TinyML or TensorFlow Lite.
• Implement edge AI features including wake‑word detection and audio intelligence.
• Create telemetry ingestion pipelines (MAVLink, BLE, sensor streams) and support hardware sensor integration.
• Support crash‑safe data logging and post‑flight data transfer solutions.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, DSP, Acoustics or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in embedded Linux and systems programming (C/C++, Python).
• Proven track record in active noise cancellation product development.
• Experience with safety‑critical or real‑time embedded systems, preferably in aviation or drone environments.

Required skills

• Adaptive filtering techniques (LMS, NLMS, RLS).
• Audio DSP platforms (Analog Devices, Qualcomm or similar).
• Real‑time audio processing and low‑latency system design.
• Machine learning for audio (CRN, RNN, LSTM).
• Spatial audio technologies (HRTF, Ambisonics, 3D audio).
• BLE, telemetry systems and embedded networking protocols.
• MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++.
• Embedded AI/edge inference deployment (NPU, TensorFlow Lite).
• MAVLink or equivalent flight telemetry protocols.
