Postdoctoral Research Fellowship – Electrical Engineering

About the role
Applications are invited for post‑doctoral research fellowships in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. Fellows will conduct research in a wide range of electrical‑engineering topics, from bio‑inspired robotics to radar signal processing, under the supervision of a designated principal investigator. Successful candidates must register at UCT by the stipulated deadline.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality research that leads to peer‑reviewed journal publications.
- Prepare regular progress reports and present findings at conferences and departmental seminars.
Required profile
- PhD awarded within the last five years and no prior permanent academic or professional positions.
- Must not be in full‑time employment; part‑time work (max 10 hours/week) is permitted.
Required skills
- Research expertise in one of the listed electrical‑engineering areas (e.g., robotics, computational electronics, control systems, power systems, radar, etc.).
- Proficiency with relevant research methodologies and tools, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
