Platform Security Engineer (Linux & Cloud)

About the role

The Platform Security Engineer will analyse and improve information‑security processes, ensuring stability and uptime for critical platforms. Working independently and mentoring junior staff, the role collaborates with specialists to implement security controls across Linux and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Capture timesheets and claims accurately and on time.
• Propose cost‑effective security solutions that meet policy requirements and budget constraints.
• Negotiate vendor pricing for new security technologies.
• Manage low, medium and high‑severity incidents, coordinating with specialists for complex cases.
• Facilitate incident and problem management processes when stakeholder environments are affected.
• Oversee implementation of security changes, assess risks, and verify successful deployment.
• Interpret system logs and MIS reports to detect deviations from standards.
• Provide first‑line support for non‑routine incidents and document all processes and procedures.
• Create and maintain security standards, monitor the security environment, and contribute to project documentation.
• Design security solutions, implement technologies, and supervise change management activities.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and deliver tasks without supervision.
• Experience mentoring administrators and junior analysts.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional security specialists.
• Willingness to be on‑call for urgent security issues outside normal working hours.
• Commitment to staying current with information‑security policies, standards, and best practices.
