Pet Insurance Claims Consultant (Vet Nurse)

About the role

We are launching a new pet insurance brand in Australia and need a qualified veterinary nurse to join our claims team. As a Pet Insurance Claims Consultant you will support pet owners during difficult moments, assessing claims with empathy and accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process pet insurance claims with precision.
• Assess veterinary documentation to determine eligibility under policy guidelines.
• Make decisions on approvals, partial payments, or rejections and identify potential fraud.
• Negotiate claim costs where appropriate.
• Communicate empathetically with policyholders via phone and email, providing clear updates.
• Liaise with veterinarians and clinics to gather necessary documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in the claims system and ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in claims handling.
