Operations Manager – Service Operations (Gqeberha)

About the role

Vestas is seeking an Operations Manager to lead its service operations in Gqeberha, South Africa. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality maintenance of the company’s wind turbine fleet across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technicians, supervisors and support functions to deliver high‑quality maintenance operations.
• Manage operational performance against KPIs such as availability, LPF reduction, quality, productivity and cost control.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and fulfil all contractual obligations.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives across service sites.
• Oversee planning, scheduling and resource allocation processes.
• Control operational budgets, forecasting and reporting.
• Support recruitment, performance management and employee development.
• Collaborate with regional functions including Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, HSE and Finance.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience in operations management, field service or industrial maintenance.
• Proven experience managing technical teams in a high‑risk industrial environment.
• Solid understanding of maintenance methodologies and operational processes.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Management or a related field.
• Knowledge of South African labour legislation and workforce management.
