About the role

We are seeking a National Key Account Manager to lead and grow relationships with our strategic customers across South Africa. The role will involve strategic planning, contract negotiation and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct strategic planning to improve customer results
  • Ensure thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
  • Establish and oversee internal budgets with the company and external budgets with customers
  • Negotiate contracts with customers and establish timelines of performance
  • Collaborate with managers and teams from design, sales, creative, advertising, logistics, marketing and other departments to deliver high‑quality solutions
  • Work with the sales team to maximise profit through up‑selling and cross‑selling
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly
  • Ensure correct products and services are delivered on time
  • Facilitate expansion of existing customer relationships and acquire new customers
  • Serve as the communication link between key customers and internal teams
  • Analyse customer data to support effective relationship management
  • Develop and maintain trust relationships with a portfolio of major customers
  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress and forecast reports using key account metrics
  • Present reports on account progress, goals and quarterly initiatives

Required profile

  • Matric qualification (high school)
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, sales or a related field (advantageous)
  • 4‑5 years of sales, management or key account management experience in a retail or wholesale environment
  • Proven ability to deliver customer solutions and meet sales targets
  • Strong time‑management, emotional intelligence and communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, results‑driven with strong negotiation abilities
  • Ability to analyse data and translate insights into results
  • Excellent organisational and management capabilities
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport
  • Willingness to travel as required
