MinePlan Engineer I

About the role

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is looking for a MinePlan Engineer I to provide high‑level technical support for Hexagon Mining’s mine planning software at customer sites across South Africa. The role ensures the software operates effectively, delivers tangible value to mining operations, and supports safety, productivity and efficiency improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver masterful troubleshooting and timely solutions for MineSight software worldwide.
• Adhere to support schedules, ensuring clients are not left waiting.
• Collaborate with the technical support team and act as primary customer contact for support and enhancements.
• Take ownership of customer issues, seeing them through to resolution or appropriate escalation.
• Participate in after‑hours on‑call support activities.
• Follow and improve technical support processes to increase team efficiency.
• Create FAQs and self‑service videos as needed.
• Inform the sales team of potential issues and service opportunities.
• Document defects and enhancement requests for the product development team.
• Maintain case documentation and reporting standards.
• Represent Hexagon Mining professionally at all times and comply with health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Must reside in South Africa.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and technical expertise in mine planning tools.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, customer‑focused environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to take ownership of issues and provide reliable support.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MineSight software.
• Experience troubleshooting mine planning software.
• Knowledge of technical support processes and documentation.
