Locum Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Locum Teacher for the Intersen phase to join ADvTECH’s network of schools in South Africa. The role involves delivering engaging, future‑focused lessons that build solid foundational knowledge and encourage independent, abstract thinking across the IEB, Cambridge or IB curricula.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality academic instruction and assess student progress.
• Prepare and submit accurate assessment reports.
• Manage student behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Act as a brand ambassador for the school, upholding health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and the wider community in a respectful manner.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree (NQF level 6) with a PGCE or B.Ed. (Intermediate, Intersen or Senior Phase).
• SACE certification and a valid police clearance.
• 2–5 years of teaching experience.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity and strong interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of global education trends.

Required skills

• Computer and digital literacy.
• First Aid certification.
