Legal Officer (Debt Collection)

About the role

The Legal Officer will join a professional team in Centurion, providing legal advisory, debt recovery, compliance and collections support. The role focuses on managing debt recovery processes and ensuring legal compliance throughout the collection lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide written legal advice and support to internal stakeholders.
• Draft legal documents, demand letters, and settlement agreements.
• Manage end‑to‑end debt recovery and collection processes.
• Support court‑related debt recovery matters, including interactions with Magistrate and Small Claims Courts.
• Collaborate with compliance functions to ensure adherence to relevant legislation.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Law or a related field (LLB advantageous).
• Experience in debt recovery, collections, or legal support.
• Strong legal drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with Magistrate and Small Claims Court procedures.
