Legal Advisor – Litigation

About the role

The Post‑Investment Department and the Turnarounds, Workouts & Restructures Department require a Legal Advisor with strong litigation experience to support emerging loan defaults, deal restructurings, and related legal processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt, sound legal advice to the Post‑Investment Department and related committees.
• Draft and review legal agreements for restructuring, funding amendments, and contracts with investee companies or third parties.
• Implement and monitor debt recovery, litigation, business rescue, and court proceedings, whether handled internally or by external counsel.
• Manage legal aspects of portfolio submissions for the Portfolio Management Committee and other relevant bodies.
• Control external legal costs and ensure budget compliance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of litigation and court experience.
• LLB qualification with at least three years post‑article experience; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• In‑depth knowledge of corporate finance, structured finance, and investment banking law, plus familiarity with tax, Companies Act, and insolvency law.
• Experience in turnarounds and restructurings of companies.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
