Legal Advisor – Financial Planning & Fiduciary Services

About the role

The Legal Advisor provides financial planning and technical support for risk, investment and fiduciary solutions across both individual and business markets. You will work closely with financial advisers and planners to deliver estate, business, tax, investment and retirement planning services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyse and implement solutions for clients and financial advisers in estate, business, tax, investment and retirement planning.
• Support financial advisers by understanding their needs, ensuring client‑centric engagement and providing timely feedback.
• Contribute to the growth and retention of risk and fiduciary services, including wills, trusts and estates.
• Train and develop advisers, offering legal and technical guidance.
• Prepare and maintain FAIS compliance documentation such as Letters of Introduction and Records of Advice.
• Participate in knowledge‑sharing publications and ad‑hoc reports.

Required profile

• Relevant law degree (essential).
• Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (essential).
• FAIS compliance – RE1 and RE5 certification.
• Minimum 5 years of business‑related experience, including 3‑5 years in financial services corporate.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Willingness to travel between provinces.
