Key Account Manager – Cape Town

About the role

We are looking for a Key Account Manager to lead our airline catering operations in Cape Town. The role involves building and maintaining long‑term relationships with airline customers and coordinating internal teams to ensure timely delivery of catering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain long‑term relationships with key airline managers and staff.
• Coordinate weekly food testing for major and minor airlines and oversee all production steps, from dishwashing to aircraft loading.
• Conduct a minimum of two ramp visits per month with airline operations staff.
• Perform monthly spot checks on specifications, menu calendars, loading plans and packing lists.
• Organise monthly Quality of Service meetings and schedule meetings with airline station managers.
• Respond to customer complaints within 48 hours (24 hours for critical issues) and ensure professional communication.
• Update the QMS weekly with reports and manage charter flight setups.
• Support finance teams by auditing invoices, providing month‑end data and maintaining the global discount scheme.
• Calculate cost of sales, extract financial data from the online catering system and input price updates following CPI revisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Key Account Manager, preferably within airline catering or related food services.
• Strong organisational abilities to manage weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc operational tasks.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Proficiency in using online catering platforms for data extraction and price management.
