Junior Technical Manager (Animal Feeds)

About the role

NUTRI Feeds, a leading South African manufacturer of animal feed, is looking for a Junior Technical Manager to join its Technical Division. The role focuses on ensuring top‑notch quality in feed milling operations, supporting customers, and maintaining compliance with safety and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage on‑site raw material quality control, including sampling and testing.
• Conduct standard analyses on incoming raw materials and final feed.
• Oversee final feed quality control, ensuring representative sampling and testing.
• Develop and implement ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards at the mill level.
• Drive compliance with Act 36, Act 101 and veterinary export regulations.
• Lead and motivate the Quality Team, ensuring traceability of all processes.
• Provide technical advice and support to the sales team and customers, handling product performance evaluations and complaints.
• Support bio‑security compliance, Salmonella monitoring, and risk reporting.
• Participate in training, study groups, and research for product development.

Required profile

• BSc (Agric) in Animal Science with relevant experience.
• Compliance with Act 27 of 2003 (Natural Scientific Professions Act).
• At least 1 year of experience in animal nutrition.
• Strong attention to detail, leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent people skills and self‑motivation.
