Junior Market Developer – Wallet & VAS

About the role

At Mukuru we are expanding our Wallet and value‑added services across Africa. The Junior Market Developer will support market growth, build strategic partnerships and drive customer adoption in key territories.

Key responsibilities

• Champion the Wallet & VAS strategy, identify new customer acquisition opportunities and improve product adoption.
• Develop and maintain relationships with business partners, regulators and service providers, supporting commercial negotiations and pricing reviews.
• Research market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to create viable business cases and lead discussions with potential partners.
• Coordinate cross‑functional projects from planning to execution, monitoring timelines, risks and solutions.
• Monitor developments in payments, fintech and digital wallets, using insights to inform data‑driven decisions.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in business development, sales, partnerships or market development is advantageous.
• Exposure to financial services, fintech, payments or remittances is a plus.
