Junior Full Stack Developer

About the role

Our client is seeking a passionate and motivated Full Stack Developer to join a growing software development team. The role focuses on enterprise‑scale SaaS solutions for the education sector, covering both web and mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using React and Laravel.
• Build and maintain mobile applications with React Native.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and secure backend services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software defects, and optimise performance and database queries.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, code reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA and other developers to deliver new features.
• Integrate third‑party services and APIs, and assist with deployment and production support.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel, and with React for web development.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with MySQL databases.
• Proficiency with Git version control and modern software development principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in the South African education sector is a plus.
