Junior Developer / AI Implementation Assistant

About the role

This part‑time, remote position supports small and mid‑size businesses in shipping practical AI systems such as live demos, internal tools, and client workflow solutions. You will work directly with the founder, receive scoped direction, and move features from issue to implementation and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and extend PHP/MySQL applications for marketing, lead capture, workflow, and client‑review systems.
• Implement HTML/CSS/vanilla‑JS updates, Bootstrap/jQuery UI fixes, form improvements, modal flows, filters, and admin screens.
• Support MySQL tasks: prepared queries, migrations, fixture data, cleanup scripts, and sanity checks across local and hosted environments.
• Help build and polish live AI demo tools (“Envy Demos”) for prospects.
• Assist with Node.js/Express services for voice‑agent flows, API routes, MySQL persistence, provider integrations, and internal tooling.
• Contribute to React/Vite/TypeScript dashboards for monitoring, QA views, admin screens, and demo interfaces.
• Run and maintain QA workflows, including Playwright E2E tests, Node test suites, smoke scripts, live‑call QA checklists, and manual regression notes.
• Keep documentation up‑to‑date: setup notes, QA results, client handoff docs, build logs, and implementation summaries.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of web development experience or equivalent project work.
• Ability to read existing code, follow established patterns, and ask clarifying questions before changing shared systems.
• Careful with security basics such as input validation, sessions/cookies, CORS, secrets, webhook validation, and rate/cost limits.
• Clear asynchronous communication and willingness to document changes, testing, and open items.

Required skills

• PHP with PDO, prepared statements, sessions, and server‑rendered app patterns.
• MySQL (queries, migrations, fixture data, cleanup scripts).
• HTML, CSS, vanilla JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, responsive layout design.
• Node.js, Express, HTTP/API handling, environment variables, package scripts.
• React, Vite, TypeScript, routing, component state, dashboard/admin UI patterns.
• Playwright for end‑to‑end testing, Node test suites, smoke testing, and manual QA processes.
