IT Technical Support Technician

About the role

Eurobyte Technology is looking for a motivated Junior IT Technical Support Technician to join its Johannesburg head office. You will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining computer and network equipment, providing first‑line support to internal users and ensuring system reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble new computer systems, inverter trolley backup units and network cabinets.
• Install and configure operating systems, applications and hardware components.
• Monitor and maintain computer systems, networks and related infrastructure.
• Provide telephonic support and manage support tickets and emails.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and CCTV issues, including fiber and UPS systems.
• Document procedures and generate relevant support reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on IT technical support experience.
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications; Microsoft MCSE is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Required skills

• Computer hardware assembly and backup system installation.
• Windows OS and application configuration.
• System and network monitoring.
• Fault‑finding and troubleshooting.
• Basic networking and fiber‑optic knowledge.
• CCTV camera and DVR/NVR support (Uniview/Hikvision).
• UPS and power‑backup troubleshooting.
• Experience with Ruijie network equipment.
