IT Systems Administrator

About the role

The IT Systems Administrator will manage, maintain and support the organisation’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of networks, servers, hardware and software. The role provides first‑ and second‑line technical support to staff and implements security and backup procedures to protect company data.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑line technical support for hardware, software and network issues.
• Coordinate IT requests, incidents and service tickets to ensure timely resolution.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, printers and other IT equipment.
• Support user account management, including onboarding, off‑boarding and access control.
• Coordinate regular system updates, backups and security patches.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards and data protection protocols.
• Work with vendors and service providers for IT procurement and support.
• Maintain IT asset registers, documentation and configuration records.
• Assist with IT projects such as system upgrades, new technology rollouts and process implementation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in IT support, system administration or a similar role.
• CompTIA A+ and/or CompTIA Network+ certification (advantageous).
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to support users at all levels.
• Flexibility to work after hours or weekends when required.
