IT Specialist (Marketing & Logistics)

About the role

The IT Specialist will act as the bridge between the business community and the Information Management (IM) organisation, delivering commercial system services and support for Anglo American. The role focuses on evolving enterprise application capabilities that connect and automate core business processes across ERP and related systems, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure solutions that enable business agility and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of applications and platforms within the commercial enterprise area.
• Align business processes with commercial enterprise systems in partnership with process owners.
• Ensure all managed systems comply with IT General Controls and support periodic audit activities.
• Design enterprise data and process structures, develop roadmaps, and gain consensus on new process concepts.
• Conduct complex process analysis, design proposals, and technical problem‑solving for current and future business environments.
• Coach business units on technology use and process improvements.
• Manage day‑to‑day platform operations, guaranteeing availability, security, and performance.
• Perform functional analysis, requirements definition, configuration, testing, and collaborate with third‑party teams.
• Develop prototypes, functional specifications, data and function mappings, and configure transaction/control tables.
• Support security/authorisation setup, user documentation, data interface design, migration, and reconciliation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing enterprise applications and platforms.
• Strong understanding of business processes and ability to translate them into technical solutions.
• Experience with IT General Controls and audit compliance.
• Ability to work closely with business owners, process owners, and technical teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
