Intermediate SQL Developer

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain SQL database objects while supporting application performance and business data needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers.
• Assist in designing relational database architecture for new projects.
• Create or modify SQL objects based on requirements.
• Troubleshoot failing SQL objects.
• Support the development team by using SQL Profiler, optimizing queries and tuning indexes.
• Handle business service requests, including process changes and ad‑hoc data queries.
• Follow coding standards and development processes.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to define scope, track milestones and report progress.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Computer, Engineering or Mathematical Sciences.
• Relevant Microsoft certification (SQL Developer/Azure) is beneficial.
• At least 2 years of experience as an intermediate SQL developer in a software development team.
• Ability to work in a team, provide mentorship and collaborate on UML design models.
• Good understanding of the SDLC, tools and techniques for software development.
• Experience with security‑sensitive data is a plus.
