Interior Designer – Hospitality Projects – Cape Town

About the role

Our client is a fast‑growing organisation that designs and delivers innovative hospitality and commercial environments across South Africa. They are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to create engaging customer spaces for hotels, restaurants and retail projects from concept through to installation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative interior concepts, mood boards, material palettes and visual design proposals that meet client objectives and brand standards.
• Plan and optimise hospitality and commercial spaces to ensure efficient customer flow, seating capacity and operational functionality.
• Produce technical documentation such as plans, elevations, detailing and design specifications, and compile FF&E and finish schedules.
• Research, source and coordinate furniture, finishes, lighting and accessories with suppliers, contractors and consultants.
• Support procurement, monitor site progress, conduct inspections and ensure projects are delivered within budget and timelines while maintaining design quality.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or related discipline.
• 2–4 years of professional interior design experience, preferably in hospitality, retail or commercial environments.
• Strong understanding of space planning, finishes, lighting, furniture and interior detailing.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical documentation.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
