Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) – 12‑hour Shifts

About the role

The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient‑centered care on a 12‑hour night‑on‑call (NOC) schedule within a post‑surgical and medical‑surgical unit. The RN assesses, plans, and coordinates care, promotes recovery, and ensures safety while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient health problems, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and point‑of‑care tests according to physician orders.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, medication regimens, post‑operative care, and discharge instructions.
• Operate and monitor relevant medical equipment, ensuring infection control and safety protocols are followed.
• Document all care activities accurately and promptly, including hand‑offs and incident reports.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, respond to emergencies, and support continuous patient coverage.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to create discharge plans and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure and eligibility to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience in post‑surgical or medical‑surgical inpatient settings.
• Strong commitment to patient advocacy, confidentiality, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work 12‑hour night shifts and participate in on‑call duties.
