Hospital General Manager

About the role

To oversee and manage the operations of the hospital to ensure safe patient care by providing comprehensive, high‑quality, efficient health care services and delivering on budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business growth, strategy and development for the hospital.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, specifically doctors.
• Manage and control hospital budgets/finances.
• Manage client experience and patient safety.
• Lead and manage the people in the hospital.
• Manage and mitigate hospital risks.
• Ensure continuous improvement of the overall quality of services delivered.
• Facilitate implementation of initiatives to integrate health service delivery across the continuum of care and support the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
• Experience in a private healthcare environment.

• Knowledge of healthcare industry functions and processes within a private hospital.
• Budgeting and financial planning/management principles.
• Application of business metrics.
• Governance and risk management.
• Contract and Service Level Agreement (SLA) management.
• Understanding of funders of healthcare/managed healthcare.

• Knowledge of the clinical environment.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Awareness of advances in Artificial Intelligence.
