Head of Finance

About the role

This senior finance position offers the chance to lead financial management within a high‑performing property environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, influence strategic decisions and drive financial excellence across large‑scale developments and complex portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full finance function, ensuring accurate, timely reporting and statutory compliance.
• Manage month‑end, year‑end and statutory reporting cycles.
• Liaise with funders and key stakeholders, delivering clear financial insights.
• Support audit processes and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to leadership and prepare budgets and forecasts for assets and developments.
• Build and maintain financial models, conduct sensitivity analyses and review covenant calculations.
• Assist with project feasibility, acquisitions, disposals and operational performance analysis.
• Drive technology adoption, automation and continuous improvement within finance processes.
• Oversee debtor function, cash‑flow management, billing cycles and credit control.
• Engage with clients/tenants to resolve financial queries and support cross‑functional handovers.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification with at least 7 years post‑article experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior finance management role within the property industry.
• Extensive experience managing large property portfolios and large‑scale developments.

Required skills

• MDA system experience (beneficial).
