General Worker – Mobeni, KwaZulu-Natal

About the role

The General Worker will support cleaning, housekeeping, waste management and general operational activities at Safripol's main warehouse in Mobeni. The role ensures a clean, hygienic and safe environment across loading zones, workshops, offices and storage areas while working around heavy vehicles and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean operational areas, workshops, offices, ablution facilities and loading zones, removing dust, mud, debris, oil spills and other waste.
• Collect, separate and dispose of waste according to company procedures, including handling oil‑contaminated materials safely.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report hazards such as spills, broken glass or unsafe storage.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, industrial brushes, vacuum cleaners and pressure washers.
• Coordinate cleaning activities with truck drivers, workshop staff and machine operators, and complete daily cleaning checklists.

Required profile

• Grade 10–12 education, with Grade 12 preferred.
• 1–2 years experience in cleaning, housekeeping or general work in an industrial, agricultural, warehouse or logistics environment.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual, repetitive and physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication, teamwork and the ability to work independently.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Operation of industrial cleaning equipment (brooms, mops, brushes, vacuums, pressure washers).
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe chemical handling.
• Waste segregation and disposal procedures.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe storage practices.
