Finance Manager in Transactional Banking

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance function for our transactional banking operations. The role will provide financial governance, reporting and strategic support within a high‑performing financial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance activities for transactional banking, ensuring accurate reporting and robust financial control.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets and variance analyses.
• Oversee reconciliations, settlements, refunds, write‑offs and related transactional accounting processes.
• Maintain governance, internal controls, audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal and commercial teams on business initiatives.
• Support new product launches, system implementations and process enhancements by assessing financial impacts.
• Develop and maintain financial models, business cases and scenario analyses.
• Identify financial and operational risks and drive corrective actions.
• Enhance management reporting, dashboards and decision‑support analytics.
• Lead, mentor and develop finance team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Science or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA is advantageous.
• 5‑8 years of experience in finance, management accounting or financial reporting within financial services.
• Strong understanding of transactional banking, payments, settlements and financial control environments.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, profitability analysis and management reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, governance, risk management and audit processes.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
