Field Support Technician – POS & IT Equipment

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Field Support Technician to install, maintain and repair Point of Sale (POS) and IT equipment across multiple customer sites in South Africa. The role involves daily travel, independent troubleshooting and delivering high‑quality service within strict SLA timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve customer queries and technical issues on‑site within agreed SLA windows.
• Perform installations, repairs, maintenance and testing of POS terminals and desktop equipment.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions to achieve first‑time‑fix outcomes.
• Maintain accurate service call records and update work details on site.
• Follow QMS processes and guidelines set by the Field Service Manager.
• Manage boot stock levels and complete required administrative tasks promptly.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications (required).
• Approximately 2 years experience maintaining equipment in an IT environment and 1 year supporting desktop equipment.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Residence in one of the specified locations (e.g., Hermanus, Sandton, etc.).

• Experience with POS devices.
