Export Manager

About the role

The Export Manager will lead the international expansion and sales growth of a South African pharmaceutical company. This role involves developing and executing export strategies, building relationships with overseas partners, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement export strategy to achieve sales targets and increase market share.
• Research and identify potential export markets, analysing regulatory requirements, trends and competition.
• Build and maintain relationships with international distributors, wholesalers and key stakeholders.
• Negotiate sales contracts, pricing and distribution agreements while ensuring legal compliance.
• Coordinate with production, logistics and regulatory teams to guarantee timely delivery and regulatory adherence.
• Provide market intelligence and analysis to senior management for strategic decisions.
• Design and execute marketing and promotional activities tailored to each international market.
• Monitor export sales performance, identify growth opportunities and address challenges.
• Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations and industry standards.
• Represent the company at trade shows, conferences and networking events worldwide.

Required profile

• Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s in Business Administration, International Business or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of export management experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Proven track record of expanding sales and market share internationally.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, import/export laws and pharmaceutical standards.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Analytical mindset with capability to interpret market data and trends.
