Entry-Level Digital Forensic First Responder

About the role

Join SGS as an entry‑level Digital Forensic First Responder and work alongside experienced investigators on real cyber incidents, fraud cases, and digital crime scenes. You will receive full training on industry‑standard forensic tools and gain hands‑on experience from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Support digital forensic incident response and investigation activities.
• Assist with evidence collection, preservation, and chain‑of‑custody documentation.
• Conduct basic forensic analysis of logs, files, emails, and user activity under supervision.
• Identify and escalate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation for legal and audit purposes.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 with current studies or a completed qualification in Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, IT, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of computers, operating systems, and file systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
• Professional written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to work onsite in Johannesburg and hold a valid passport for potential travel.
