ECD Teacher

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Early Childhood Development (ECD) Teacher to join our team in Midrand. The role involves creating a nurturing, play‑based learning environment for young children and supporting their holistic development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver weekly play‑based lessons covering songs, sensory activities, storytelling and motor‑skill development.
• Supervise children throughout the day, including feeding, playtime, naps and hygiene support appropriate to age groups.
• Observe and record each child’s developmental progress and conduct basic assessments such as speech, behaviour and milestone tracking.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well‑structured classroom, set up learning zones like creative corners, reading areas and outdoor play spaces.
• Manage behaviour using calm, child‑friendly techniques and work collaboratively with assistants and fellow educators.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress, concerns and daily activities.

Required profile

• Matriculation (or equivalent) plus a B.Ed. or comparable early‑childhood qualification.
• 0–1 years of experience working with young children in an educational setting.
• Passion for early childhood development and ability to work as part of a supportive team.
