Doctor Detailing Sales Representative

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious individual to promote Austell’s pharmaceutical portfolio to healthcare professionals across multiple South African regions. Whether you are a recent graduate in a medical science discipline or an experienced sales professional, this role offers extensive training and growth potential.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and detail pharmaceutical products to general practitioners, specialists and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate product indications, clinical benefits and usage clearly during one‑on‑one engagements and presentations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of medical, clinical and scientific developments relevant to the product portfolio.
• Plan and execute regular, structured visits to doctors, clinics and hospitals within the assigned territory.
• Identify opportunities to expand product awareness, prescribing support and business growth.
• Achieve agreed sales targets and performance objectives.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to inform territory strategy.

Required profile

• Graduates with a degree in a medical science field (Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, or related).
• Candidates with prior experience in pharmaceutical sales or doctor‑detailing are encouraged to apply.
