Design Engineer

About the role

AVT is seeking a Design Engineer to create and detail engineering solutions for its projects and clients. The role involves producing high‑quality AutoCAD drawings, supporting internal teams, and ensuring successful project delivery from design through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Create and review AutoCAD drawings according to AVT standards.
• Develop detailed infrastructure, rack layout, system wiring, and custom cabling drawings.
• Compile cable routing and pull schedules as required.
• Validate Bills of Materials post‑sale against client orders.
• Collaborate with technical, project, and sales teams to develop site‑specific solutions.
• Support field engineers, programmers, and technicians during site meetings, commissioning, testing, and training.
• Produce accurate as‑built drawings from field mark‑ups.
• Engage with vendors to explore new technologies.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering solutions that meet project scope and client expectations.
• Willingness to support sales and field activities as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and reviewing engineering drawings.
