Defended Litigation Secretary

About the role

A well‑established law firm in Lynnwood, Pretoria is looking for an experienced Defended Litigation Secretary. The role supports the defended foreclosure department, handling a range of administrative and drafting tasks for high‑value cases, often involving Standard Bank.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and organise case files, ensuring all documentation is current and accurate.
• Perform general administrative duties for the defended foreclosure team.
• Draft and process legal documents under attorney supervision, including motions, pleadings, notices, sheriff’s letters and other litigation paperwork.
• Liaise professionally with clients, defendants, counterparts and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with legal professionals to guarantee timely court filings, court appearances and accurate reporting.
• Support efficient workflow within the department and provide day‑to‑day administrative assistance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years experience as a Litigation Secretary in defended foreclosure matters.
• Proven experience handling defended foreclosure cases, preferably involving Standard Bank.
• Strong dictation, typing and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in My Attorneys.
• Proficiency in CACS (bank‑related system).
• Experience with GhostPractice.
• Familiarity with CaseLines.
