Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer – Data Center

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer to provide end‑to‑end support for AWS data centers. You will act as the primary engineering resource for your region, handling design, troubleshooting, and upgrades of critical mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and produce corrective action (CA) documentation for equipment failures.
• Support operational issues through training, procedure reviews, and event response.
• Design and implement upgrades that increase capacity, availability, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with operations, design, hardware, and safety teams to maintain consistent standards.
• Lead engineering audits, on‑site visits, and produce risk mitigation reports.
• Serve as resident engineer during new construction, overseeing construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Required profile

• Strong engineering judgement with the ability to make recommendations amid uncertainty.
• Detail‑oriented and data‑driven decision maker.
• Proven experience solving complex problems with engineered solutions.
• Experience managing engineering projects in a data‑center or industrial environment.
