Conservation Consultant – Call Center (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Conservation Consultant will handle both outbound and inbound telephone interactions with Discovery clients who have requested to cancel their policies. The primary aim is to retain customers by addressing their concerns, meeting FAIS compliance, and achieving monthly conservation targets. This role is based in the Sandton call centre serving the Johannesburg area.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outbound and inbound calls to persuade clients to retain their Discovery policies.
• Ensure all FAIS requirements (FNA, ROA, statutory notices) are completed during each call.
• Meet or exceed monthly conservation targets.
• Identify client needs and upsell additional Discovery products where appropriate.
• Provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
• Record accurate statistics on calls, contacts, and outcomes and report to management.
• Process administrative changes promptly and monitor their completion.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience in life, health or short‑term insurance sales or outbound telesales.
• FAIS accreditation (NQF 4 or 5) and successful completion of required regulatory exams.
• Excellent spoken English; Afrikaans proficiency is a plus.
• Strong sales and persuasion abilities with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
