Compliance Officer – 12-Month Fixed-Term (Johannesburg)

About the role

Support a leading South African developmental finance organisation in maintaining strong regulatory, legal and compliance standards across its operations. Key responsibilities

• Identify applicable legislation and monitor the organisation's regulatory universe.
• Develop systems to detect regulatory changes and facilitate timely responses.
• Draft risk mitigation plans to address compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to direct compliance matters for investigation and resolution.
• Design and implement compliance programmes, training and monitoring initiatives.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the NCR and FSCA.
• Assist with coordinating implementation of organisational policies and complaints procedures.
• Facilitate reporting to the Social and Ethics Committee and prepare submissions on draft laws.

Required profile

• LLB degree (minimum qualification).
• At least 3 years' experience in a regulatory, legal and compliance environment.
• Experience in legislative and regulatory monitoring.
• Understanding of compliance risk identification and mitigation.
• Ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational capability and resilience to manage multiple projects.
