Commercial Transactional Lawyer – Remote (South Africa)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Transactional Lawyer to join our global team remotely from South Africa. You will provide strategic legal support for complex commercial operations, drafting and negotiating agreements that drive business growth and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, service, licensing, distribution, partnership, NDA, and joint‑venture contracts.
• Provide strategic guidance on commercial risks, contractual obligations, and compliance with Australian laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align agreements with business objectives and operational goals.
• Support corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and reorganisations through due diligence and documentation.
• Analyse business strategies from a legal perspective and deliver practical recommendations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of commercial legislation, regulations, and contract law developments.
• Manage legal matters independently, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with organisational priorities.
• Translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice for non‑legal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial transactions, corporate law, or a related legal field.
• Strong knowledge of Australian contract law, commercial regulations, and business practices.
• Proven ability to draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of commercial agreements.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑motivated, capable of working independently in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with international teams.
