About the role
The Commercial Farm Manager will oversee all aspects of macadamia farm operations in the Port Elizabeth area, performing hands‑on tasks such as equipment repairs, irrigation maintenance and general troubleshooting. This is a practical, operational role rather than a purely supervisory position.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain farm road infrastructure, water reticulation, fences and fire‑breaks.
- Service dams, pumps and overall building maintenance, including three on‑site houses.
- Control access, manage waste, and keep the asset register up to date.
- Report to the Director as required and train/supervise farm workers.
Required profile
- B.Sc. degree or Diploma in Agriculture (plant production preferred).
- Valid standard vehicle driving licence; heavy‑vehicle licence advantageous.
- Practical farm experience in harvesting, pruning and fertilisation.
- Mechanical knowledge and practical mechanical ability.
Required skills
- Mechanical equipment repair.
- Irrigation‑line maintenance.
- Operation of standard and heavy vehicles.
