Client Director – Global Partnerships

About the role

This position will serve Prescient’s existing institutional client base in South Africa – pension funds, retirement funds, multi‑managers and consultants – by introducing and positioning Schroders’ capabilities alongside Prescient’s own range. Reporting to the Head of Institutional, the role works as a true collaborator within the distribution team, ensuring a coordinated, one‑firm approach to the market.

Key responsibilities

• Drive new business origination for the Schroders range across institutional channels, targeting both Prescient’s current clients and new prospects.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with institutional asset owners, consultants, retirement fund trustees and multi‑managers, acting as the primary point of contact for Schroders‑related queries.
• Collaborate closely with Prescient’s distribution, client service and marketing teams to deliver a seamless client experience and share market intelligence.
• Provide strategic input on the Schroders partnership distribution strategy, track pipeline, conversion and revenue against targets.
• Ensure all client engagement and marketing activities comply with FAIS, FICA and other South African regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in business development, distribution or institutional sales within asset management, investment banking or related financial services.
• Established network across South African institutional investors (pension/retirement funds, consultants, medical schemes) and multi‑manager channels.
• Experience distributing on behalf of an international asset manager is strongly preferred.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding new‑business and AUM growth targets.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (Finance, Investment Management, Business, Economics); CFA charter or honours degree advantageous, plus RE5 certification and FAIS fit‑and‑proper compliance.
