Client Care Graduate Internship 2026

About the role

The FAIS Ombud is recruiting a graduate trainee to join the Client Care Department as part of its Graduate Recruitment Programme. The 12‑month internship provides practical workplace experience, competency‑based training and mentorship while exposing interns to complaints handling in the financial sector.

Key responsibilities

• Register new complaints and assess whether they fall within the FAIS Ombud’s jurisdiction.
• Guide complainants on jurisdictional matters and identify key issues in each complaint.
• Request additional information, refer matters outside jurisdiction to appropriate organisations, and liaise with complainants and financial service providers.

Required profile

• South African citizen with a valid ID and an Office Administration Diploma (NQF Level 6).
• Strong academic background, computer literacy and an interest in public service and the financial sector.
• Energetic, self‑driven, deadline‑focused and able to work in a demanding environment.

Required skills

• Problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and contribute positively in a team.
• Presentation, conflict‑management and people‑management capabilities.
