About the role
Joburg Market is looking for reliable cashiers to manage cash transactions at South Africa’s largest fresh produce market. The role involves handling bulk payments, maintaining cash balances and assisting visitors with information.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and record various payments and cash transactions.
- Manage the cashier area and ensure stock availability.
- Prepare daily cash reports and maintain cash drawer balance.
- Coordinate with CIT officers for cash handover.
- Monitor cash counts by the internal bank and reconcile daily.
- Allocate sundry payments such as trolley, electricity and rent.
- Assist patrons with information and direct them to relevant offices.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification.
- At least 6 months of cashiering experience.
- Ability to lift heavy containers.
- Proficiency in computer usage.
