About the role

The Emergency Unit is seeking a Care Worker to support nursing staff in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist nursing unit staff in delivering quality patient care within a team approach.
• Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting nursing staff.
• Provide administrative support to the nursing unit as required.
• Participate in continuous personal development to build staff competence.
• Manage stock efficiently and ensure accurate charging.

Required profile

• Appropriate qualification as a Care Worker (essential).
• Grade 12 (desired).
• Experience in a healthcare environment (essential).

Required skills

• Understanding of stock control principles.
• Ability to report and document events and tasks.
• Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
• Familiarity with administrative tasks.
• Understanding of patient experience and care principles.
• Application of infection prevention and control principles.
