About the role
EYKON is offering a bursary/sponsorship program for N6 Electrical Engineering graduates to qualify as electrical and electronic assemblers. The programme includes a two‑day Basics of Electronics course followed by a two‑day Micro‑Soldering Ultimate Training, with a stipend of R1000.
Key responsibilities
- Attend and successfully complete the Basics of Electronics curriculum covering voltage, current, Ohm’s Law, component types and PCB identification.
- Attend and successfully complete the Micro‑Soldering training covering ESD handling, component orientation, soldering tools, and hand soldering of 0402 SMD components.
Required profile
- N6 Electrical Engineering qualification, South African citizenship and affirmative‑action status.
- Up‑to‑date CV and certified copies of qualification, academic transcripts and Matric certificate.
Required skills
- Fundamentals of electronics and ESD safety.
- Understanding of voltage, current (AC/DC) and Ohm’s Law.
- Identification of passive and active electronic components, through‑hole and SMD.
- Knowledge of PCB types (THT, SMT) and component orientation.
- Proficiency with a digital multimeter.
- Micro‑soldering techniques, including hand soldering of 0402 SMD parts.
