Bookkeeper – Trial Balance Specialist

About the role

Network Finance is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the trial balance process within a busy finance team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys handling both creditor and debtor functions, and is committed to high standards of financial administration.

Key responsibilities

• Process journals, financial postings and adjustments up to trial balance.
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards, legal requirements and company policies.
• Assist with annual audit preparation, including audit packs, fixed‑asset register audits and quarterly insurance updates.
• Manage full creditor function: reconciliations, payment requisitions, banking verification, payment loading and foreign payment documentation.
• Manage debtor accounts: reconciliations, customer statements, weekly age analysis, credit applications and compliance.
• Follow up overdue accounts and support debt collection and recovery.
• Reconcile and manage company bank accounts, credit cards, petrol cards and petty cash.
• Process supplier invoices and ensure supporting documentation for procurement.
• Perform general finance administration, filing and ad‑hoc accounting duties.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Bookkeeping, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with Pastel Evolution or a similar accounting system.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional, responsible and accountable work ethic.

What we offer

• Annual salary range: R300,000 – R360,000
