Bookkeeper to Balance Sheet

About the role

Our client, a respected manufacturer in the Cape Town Northern Suburbs, is seeking a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to manage the full finance function up to the balance sheet. You will work in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment where accuracy, deadlines and strong financial controls are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, customer receipts and daily cash‑book transactions.
• Perform bank, creditor, debtor and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly journals, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with inventory reconciliations and ensure integrity of stock‑related transactions.
• Process VAT returns and support statutory submissions.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Support month‑end and year‑end reporting, including audit preparation.
• Ensure compliance with company financial controls and accounting standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Bookkeeper to Balance Sheet, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, engineering or production.
• Strong understanding of inventory, stock reconciliations and manufacturing finance processes.
