Blasting Assistant – Mining North Shaft

About the role

Seize this opportunity to join Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a values‑driven company that cares for its people unconditionally. The mine is a world‑class producer of chrome ore located in Limpopo Province, about 40 km from Burgersfort. The successful applicant will report to the Miner or nominee.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in face preparation before drilling.
• Prepare and transport explosives, charge rounds, and assist with blasting timing.
• Create a safe work area, maintain good housekeeping, and conduct early examinations.
• Water down, examine, and clean the face after blasting; demarcate geological features.
• Assist with measurements, direction lines, and treat misfires under supervision.
• Receive explosives orders, handle magazine hand‑over, and transport explosives to the section.
• Dislodge drill holes, charge with explosives, and connect blast timing devices.

Required profile

• Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
• Blasting Assistant Certificate.
• At least 1 year practical underground mining experience (e.g., pump attendant, PTW, belt attendant, rock breaker).
• Advantageous: 6 months practical experience as a Blasting Assistant.
