Bid and Funding Manager – Johannesburg

About the role

Datafin is seeking a Bid and Funding Manager to lead the end‑to‑end bid lifecycle for its R1 billion+ funding pipeline. The role sits within the Group Shared Services function and reports to the Commercial Executive.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a live CRM‑based bid register covering SETA, government, DFI and corporate funders, and keep a rolling 12‑month bid calendar.
• Coordinate proposal development, gathering technical input, financial schedules and compliance documentation, and manage DocuSign approval workflows.
• Design and format bid submissions, ensuring visual quality and alignment with evaluator scoring criteria.
• Develop per‑learner cost models, pricing structures and margin analysis in partnership with Finance.
• Track bid progress from submission to award, conduct win/loss analysis and report pipeline health to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Public Administration, Law or related field; postgraduate qualification or APMP certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in bid management, proposal writing or grants management with a proven record of successful submissions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems for bid register management.
• Experience using DocuSign or similar electronic approval tools.
