Band 5 Staff Nurse – Renal Medicine (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our acute Renal Medicine unit (Ward 108 ECC). This part‑time position works 33.75 hours per week on a 12‑hour day and night rotation, providing high‑quality care to both elective and emergency renal patients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 20‑bed renal unit, with capacity for additional spaces.
• Collaborate with the renal dialysis unit (wards 404/405) and the Acute Dialysis Team on the floor.
• Maintain accurate patient records and utilise IT systems confidently.
• Support the multidisciplinary team, contributing to a safe and efficient ward environment.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in renal medicine and willingness to develop leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing shift patterns and respond to service demands at short notice.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, and able to support colleagues effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT applications used in clinical settings.
