Assistant Store Manager – 40 hrs – Canal Walk, Cape Town

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to join our team at the Canal Walk store in Cape Town. The role involves driving sales performance, managing expenses and ensuring excellent customer service in a fast‑paced fashion retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive turnover to achieve sales targets and manage profit.
• Control expenses and manage stock losses to keep shrinkage within company standards.
• Recruit, develop and manage staff, handling performance and employee relations.
• Execute in‑store merchandising strategy and maintain visual standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by implementing the company’s service strategy.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years retail experience.
• At least 2 years of store leadership or management experience.

Required skills

• Interest in fashion and a passion for customer service.
• Organised, figure‑and‑admin oriented and profit driven.
• Ability to manage risk, communicate persuasively and show initiative.
• Resourceful in sourcing and implementing solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Familiarity with office systems, policy & procedures, strategic sales planning and customer value management.
