Area Manager – FMCG & Retail (8 Stores)

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier in the FMCG and retail sector, is looking for an experienced Area Manager to oversee the operational and commercial performance of multiple retail stores. The role will manage eight stores across Cape Town and Durban, driving sales growth, ensuring operational standards, and supporting store management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor monthly sales, growth and performance against company targets for all allocated stores.
• Analyse store performance and implement corrective actions where required.
• Lead, coach and develop Store Managers to achieve operational and sales objectives.
• Ensure products are ordered, received and displayed correctly across all stores.
• Manage stock levels, ordering and merchandising, including seasonal stock.
• Maintain health and safety standards and oversee store maintenance.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ solid FMCG/retail experience.
• Proven experience as an Area Manager or in a multi‑site management role.
• Experience managing, coaching and supporting Store Managers.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively between stores.
